At the moment we have the new Creative and Media Diploma students completng practice tasks. They are learning to film and edit small pieces of moving image.

Welcome to all of our new students and those returning to continue their A2 Studies. We have had another fantastic set of Summer exams and we are very proud of all of our students who have completed their courses as well as our returning students. A special mention should really go out to the 4 students who received A*’s in Communication and Culture (Tasha, Tara, Georgina and Shadnaz), and the 3 who received A*’s in Media (Shadnaz, Beth and Ben.) Very well done! However these results did not outshine a cohort that excelled in all 3 subjects; as Media received a 74% A/B pass rate, alongside the 86% & 75% achieved by Comms and Film respectively.

Comm and Culture students have completed semiotic anchorage actitivites where they explore how language controls the interpretation of images.
Students in all 3 subjects are being stretched to create promotional videos as a small group challenge.
Media Students are participating in an Apprentice Challenge to create a new soft drink.
AS Film students are being challenged by their introduction to World Cinema.
Some of our Media studies are working on an extra curricular project making a short documentary on year 6 Induction at Collingwood College.
We are deciding our Department prefects and their roles for next year.
Departing A2 students enjoyed their Leavers’ Assembly and Prom.
